Casely-Hayford AW2011

It’s always a pleasure to review a Casely-Hayford collection, the only menswear design house that consistently gives me butterflies with each collection.  I usually do not cover menswear on MyBennuCafe but I came to the realization that Casely-Hayford is not just about fashion it’s truly a work of art.  The craftmanship. The design.  It’s impeccable!  View the complete collection here

Azzedine Alaïa A/W 2011

“….technical feats like this collection’s short fitted jackets, as well as evening dresses that limned the body to the hips, dipped to cup the bum, then erupted into flamencolike tiers of ruffles. All in knit! Sober yet erotically charged, they were looks for proper grown-ups—of any age. “You just don’t see clothes like that,” one loyal customer rhapsodized at show’s end. “There’s everyone else. Then there’s Alaïa.” – Style.com

Azzedine Alaïa is undoubtedly a master at his craft.  His Autumn/Winter 2011 collection will leave you breathless.. I’m drooling over the above knit dress, oh Alaia!! View more of my faves below.

Suakoko Betty AFWNY 2011

Stripes seem to be a favored trend on the runway as of late, we have seen them in the recent collections of Aquilano e Rimondia, Prada, Clements Ribeiro and others. However, Suakoko Betty’s use of brightly colored stripes with African prints made the collection witty, modern & absolutely delightful.  Every piece was wearable and could be layered or mixed and matched.  This was obviously the crowd favorite, the standing ovation was well deserved.
