Pretty little dresses, and gingham knitted shifts, sashayed down the runway giving me an ”I love Lucy meets Lady Gaga ” vibe complete with white satin gloves, strings of pearls and floral bonnet headpieces. Overall the collection was quite cheery with the slight undertone of rebellion we’ve all come to expect from a Vivienne Westwood collection. J’adore!!!
I could not end without mentioning Aunt Viv’s public service announcement in support of Climate Revolution “My motto is ‘buy less, choose well, make it last.’ You should wait until you really need something before you buy it. In fact, don’t buy this collection.” ?? I so love this woman!
Ozwald Boateng’s fall/winter 2012 collection introduces plenty of black, salt and pepper wool, dramatic overcoats, and mohair and Japanese fabrics.
Boateng describes his collection:
“The traditionally ‘black and white’ Japanese attitude towards clothing etiquette fascinates me. In modern society, migration between East and West has caused these elements to merge. Autumn/Winter 2012 combines facets of typical British Hunting Attire and a Japanese aesthetic story to create something new, something directional.”
