We love the feminine touch Rachel brings to her ready to wear collections each season, but there is a fine balance between being consistant and being wearisome.  The only truly interesting piece was the skull and bird patterned jumpsuit, otherwise Rachel Roy gave us chiffon dresses, blouses, and trousers for Spring/Summer 2013…

Rachel Roy: Color Blocking 101

Color! Color! and more Colors! Runways across the globe are bursting with vivacious colors and out of the cataclysm a new trend has emerged.  Color Blocking is a styling technique of combining colors that support and compliment each other.  In order to pull off this look you must  know a little bit about the color wheel, or have a good eye for pairing colors well.  If all else fails study the most recent collections of your favorite designers.  Rachel Roy’s Resort 2012 collection is a great place to start.

Rachel Roy RTW AW2011

Rachel Roy SERVES! us again with her Autumn Winter 2011 Ready to Wear collection.  In this collection Rachel focuses on color and patterns to create mix and match looks that are made for layering, layering, and more layering.  The end result is a full line of casual yet feminine designs that are sure to satisfy even the most eclectic tastes.

“the Rachel Roy collection has a decisively exotic flavour. It’s an exoticism that mixes a taste for vivid, typically African colours with styles and shapes that lead you back, instead, to Eastern Europe. Many tricot wool sweaters, also in fantasy themes, put together with heavy tweed, wool ponchos, full-circle skirts, floral print dresses, and woolen cloth jackets fitted at the waist by belts. Embellishing the overall look are touches of soft Mongolian fur, calf-length pants that are full at the hips, masculine suits, and suede wrap dresses”  -Vogue
